Fronius Solar Inverters

NRG Solar is proud to be a certified Fronius Service Partner+ and to recommend Fronius solar power inverters for our new solar installations. For over 70 years the name Fronius has stood for intensive research and the constant search for new, innovative solutions.

The perfect efficiency of every product has repeatedly been awarded both national and international prizes. Fronius has one clear goal: to be a leader in innovation. With around 3,000 employees worldwide and over 1,000 granted patents on record, Fronius are continually shifting the limits of what’s possible. While others progress step by step, Fronius innovate in leaps and bounds.

What do we like about Fronius?

In business for over 70 years, Fronius started in Austria in 1945 and is now global, yet still a private company.

They created the first inverter designed to be repaired on site. This means that they are able to shut down global warranty departments and instead use field technicians for repairs in the future

In Australia, they commonly offer 10 year product warranrties as standard, most other inverters only offer a 5 year warranty.

Created the “Fronius smart meter” which generates reports on consumption and generation. This will indicate the correct battery size needed for the size of the solar system. Essential for any customer who wants to consider batteries in the future.

Fronius has one of the best monitoring systems for solar and household information. Their standard Wi-Fi monitoring platform shows how much power is generated from the customers solar system while the advanced monitoring will show self-consumption percentage, how much has been exported to the grid and battery storage, which gives the customer assistance in optimising their solar system. NRG use the Fronius solarweb monitoring for email and text alerts for all of our customers.

We love the Fronius product.

Error code - 102 AC Voltage too high

Unfortunately, the AC or Grid voltage has been causing many solar home owners systems to be turned off! Which ultimately means you’re not able to produce solar energy – no good!

The Error Code – 102

Your Fronius Inverter is doing exactly what it was design to do, the inverter is communicating to you that there is a problem and is turning itself off to protect itself against any thing that could possibly damage the system.

In this case it is telling you that there is a 102 error which means AC voltage too high, several/all 3 phases. This is a mains voltage error or the grid voltage is too high.

According to the Australian Standard (AS 60038-2012), the grid should be kept at 230V -6% / + 10%. So the highest it should get is 253V. When the grid voltage rises above 155V the inverter, due to its factory settings, turns off until the grid reaches a normal voltage.

With Fronius inverters it allows us to track and identify issues with systems and also with external factors that are affecting the solar production. As you you can see below the Fronius SolarWeb is showing us that the AC voltage is at 254.00V. When the grid voltage rises above 255V the inverter, due to its factory settings, turns off until the grid reaches a normal voltage (255 and under).
